Canada’s Giant Leap for AI in Space

Short Summary: The Persistence Mission is Canada’s next step in the global effort to bring trustworthy AI & Autonomy to space. Creating resilient, rapid response capabilities by intelligently downlinking actionable insights to humans on Earth, Persistence will pioneer AI-enabled operational concepts to save space system operators time and money. With the support of the Canadian Space Agency, Mission Control has partnered with Spire Global to build a Spacecraft that will launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in 2025. Post-launch, Mission Control will demonstrate the power of space-based AI ushering in the next phase of human space exploration and a better understanding of the Earth..​
