Financing led by GreenSky Ventures and Scotiabank will expand research and development capabilities, rover design and production facilities, and operations staff as the company executes larger mission contracts
OTTAWA, Canada, October 14, 2026 – Mission Control Space Services Inc. (“Mission Control”), a Canadian space technology company specializing in rovers, autonomy and mission operations, today announced C$10 million in new financing. GreenSky Ventures led an equity investment, with new strategic investors joining, and Scotiabank and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Roynat Capital, led new senior debt and commercial banking facilities. The capital will expand the company’s research and development capabilities, rover design and production facilities, and operations staff, enabling it to take on larger, more complex missions while strengthening Canada’s space ecosystem.
“This financing is a strong vote of confidence in our team, technology and strategy,” said Brenton Brown, CFO of Mission Control. “With the backing of our investors and banking partners, we are positioned to scale our operations, broaden our technology portfolio and continue strengthening Canada’s space sector.”
“This investment gives us the resources to execute a transformative growth plan and pursue missions of greater scale and ambition,” said Ewan Reid, CEO of Mission Control. “We are investing in the infrastructure, talent and innovation to serve a fast-growing customer base, and to help Canada play a leading role and secure sovereign capabilities as humanity returns to the Moon and ventures beyond.”
“Roynat Capital is committed to helping Canadian companies scale their operations and strengthen the country’s domestic capabilities,” said Matt Tedford, Senior Vice President and Head, Roynat Capital. “We’re pleased to support Mission Control’s next stage of growth with financing and banking solutions that help them compete for more opportunities.”
Expanded facilities in Ottawa and St. Marys
Mission Control has expanded its Ottawa headquarters with new R&D space and facilities for the assembly, integration and testing of flight hardware, including spacecraft systems and rovers. The site includes upgraded clean rooms and a Mission Operations Centre built for lunar surface and deep-space missions.
The company has also opened a rover prototyping and advanced concepts facility in St. Mary’s, Ontario, dedicated to the rapid design, development and testing of next-generation rovers.
“Mission Control’s new facility is an exciting opportunity for St. Mary’s,” said Peter Visccher, General Manager of the new facility. “It brings highly skilled jobs and new talent to our region and strengthens our reputation as a centre for advanced technology and innovation.”
Canada’s role in the new space economy
The announcement comes amid unprecedented momentum in the global space sector, as governments and commercial organizations increase investment in lunar exploration, autonomous systems and space infrastructure. Building on Canada’s legacy in space robotics, and with the continued support of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), a long-standing partner to the company, Mission Control is helping position Canada as a leading contributor to the next era of exploration.
