Spacefarer used in NASA’s Break the Ice Challenge

NASA's Break The Ice Challenge

We are excited to share a highlight reel from our collaboration with the Huskyworks Lab at Michigan Technological University for NASA’s Break the Ice Challenge this year!

In this competition, NASA challenged teams to develop and demonstrate robust robotic vehicles capable of lunar regolith excavation, and mobility over complex terrain.

Mining on the Moon with robots is a tough enough challenge, but to set up a reliable and user-friendly operations system adds to that challenge. We were pleased to support the Huskyworks Lab with our operations platform Spacefarer as they endeavored to tackle some of the toughest challenges for the future of lunar robotics and mining.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Spacefarer that provided our team with a robust and versatile application for controlling our rover.
We were very impressed with the capabilities of Spacefarer and it provided us with a secure and reliable system for operating our rover.
Spacefarer did an excellent job at capturing real-time data feeds from our rover that was useful for monitoring.”
